#### Start off by getting the App

1. Go to the [Azure Virtual Desktop Store app in the Microsoft Store](https://aka.ms/AVDStoreClient).
2. Select Install/Get to start downloading the app and installing it.
3. Once the app has finished downloading and installing, select **Open**. The first time the app runs, it will install the *Azure Virtual Desktop (HostApp)* dependency automatically.

#### Subscribe to a Workspace in the App

1. Open the App by selecting Open, or by using the Start Menu > Azure Virtual Desktop App (Preview)\

Azure Virtual Desktop is the foundation for Cloud Desktop, a powerful tool that enables businesses to access a virtual desktop environment from anywhere, using the robustness of cloud technology.

### Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

1. Permission from your workplace: You'll need permission (usually from your HR department) before you can connect to the Cloud Desktop.
2. A Mac running macOS 11 or later: Ensure your Mac is updated to the latest operating system version available.
3. A Microsoft account: If you can sign in to your work email using [Outlook on the Web](https://outlook.office.com), you have a Microsoft account.

1. Back in the main Remote Desktop window, you should now see your Azure Virtual Desktop connection listed.
2. Double click on the connection you just created to connect to it.
3. Wait for the initialization sequence to complete. By default, Cloud Desktops are shut down when not in use, so it may take a minute to connect on your first connection.
4. After successful authentication, the Remote Desktop client will connect to your Azure Virtual Desktop, and you'll be presented with a Windows desktop environment on your Mac.

### Step 5: Using Azure Virtual Desktop

Congratulations! You are now connected to your Azure Virtual Desktop. You can use it just like a regular Windows desktop. You can run Windows applications, access files, and perform your tasks as needed.

12. Switch to the Relian Management website tab, and paste using `Ctrl + V` into the **Authentication Code 1** field. Wait until the circle timer refreshes, and repeat steps 11 and 12 for Authentication Code 2

The Event Viewer shows a cryptic message: "Triggered repair because operation LocalSettings against package Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin\_cw5n1h2txyewy hit error -2147009096." What's going on, and how do you fix it?

## **Resolving the Issue**

1. **Sign Out of Windows**: If you can't access key applications, the first step is to sign out of Windows on your Azure Virtual Desktop. Here's how:
   * Click on the Start Menu.
   * Select your User Icon / User Name.
   * Click on 'Sign out'.
